About The Position

Join a small, high-impact systems team scaling autonomous haulage deployments internationally. This role shapes how autonomy runs on real vehicles in mission-critical mining environments. The engineer will integrate and validate autonomy capabilities on autonomous haul trucks, lead new truck platform bring-ups across multiple OEM brands, and establish production-readiness practices for an expanding international fleet. The position is full-time and on-site five days a week in San Francisco, with travel of up to 15% to customer mine sites. Relocation is fine. The company builds modular, OEM-agnostic autonomous technology for heavy industry; its autonomous haulage system is live in production with more than 100 trucks operating across mining and quarry sites worldwide.

Requirements

  • Five to eight years of experience in robotics or autonomous vehicle systems engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with autonomy deployment and systems integration on real vehicles.
  • Strong Python and C++ skills.
  • Linux-based robotics experience.
  • Experience bringing new vehicle or robot platforms from prototype to production.
  • A BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to customer mine sites.
  • Motivation for physical AI and field deployment, with comfort in ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with perception interfaces and camera pipelines.
  • Experience with sensor fusion, calibration workflows, or CAN interfaces.
  • A Master's or PhD in robotics or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and validate autonomy capabilities on real autonomous haul trucks, taking features from prototype to reliable production performance.
  • Own system-level integration across sensors, compute, networking, and software stacks during testing.
  • Lead technical execution for new truck platform bring-ups across multiple OEM brands, including sensor integration, calibration, and performance tuning.
  • Build diagnostics, validation criteria, and release gates for production readiness across a growing international fleet.
  • Work with planning, controls, operations, and safety teams to deliver robust autonomy behavior.

Benefits

  • Competitive equity.
  • Relocation is fine.
  • Visa transfers are considered.
