Robotics Systems Engineer

About The Position

A well-funded physical AI company is hiring a Robotics Systems Engineer to join a small, high-impact systems team and scale deployments of autonomous haul trucks. More than 100 trucks are already operating in production across mining and quarry sites worldwide, hauling millions of tons. This role integrates and validates autonomy capabilities on real trucks, advancing features from prototype to reliable production performance. It owns system-level integration across sensors, compute, networking, and software, and leads technical execution for new truck platform bring-ups across multiple OEM brands. The engineer will also develop diagnostics, validation criteria, and release gates for an expanding international fleet, collaborating with planning, controls, operations, and safety teams in mission-critical mining environments. The company describes its culture as engineering-led, with engineers making key decisions. The role offers end-to-end ownership of real production systems rather than simulation. It is onsite five days a week in San Francisco, with flexible hours and no clock-in/clock-out. The company can transfer an existing H-1B or employ candidates on OPT, but cannot sponsor a new H-1B. The interview process includes a recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, technical screen, onsite interview, final interview, and debrief.
