Senior Robotics Software Engineer

Nordic Investin GroupStockholm, ME

About The Position

On behalf of a partner company, Nordic Investin is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer. The partner develops intelligent robotic products that combine planning, perception and embedded control. You will improve robot behaviour in a Linux environment, working from system level functions to advanced navigation and autonomy. The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product. You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later. As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work. You will work with machines you can observe, test and improve. The partner offers difficult technical problems, direct feedback from hardware and the opportunity to influence future robot platforms.

Requirements

  • Strong professional C++ development.
  • Python experience for tooling, testing or algorithm development.
  • Knowledge of robotics, navigation, planning or control.
  • Comfort with Linux and complex system debugging.
  • Ability to turn research ideas into maintainable product software.
  • Professional Swedish and English for partner collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware.
  • Sensor fusion, SLAM or autonomous navigation.
  • Team lead experience in algorithm or software development.
  • A background that can succeed here: Your background may be robotics, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, aerospace or advanced university research followed by production delivery. The key is that you understand the gap between a promising algorithm and dependable product behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robot behaviours and planning components in C++ and Python.
  • Integrate perception, localisation and motion capabilities.
  • Evaluate algorithms in simulation and on physical platforms.
  • Diagnose timing, sensor and system interaction issues.
  • Design tests for uncertain real world conditions.
  • Contribute technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

Benefits

  • The partner offers difficult technical problems, direct feedback from hardware and the opportunity to influence future robot platforms.
