About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to research, design, and develop localization algorithms and software for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems. The role involves developing production-quality C++ software, implementing and enhancing positioning, navigation, and state estimation solutions, and contributing to architectural design and functional safety. You will collaborate with various teams, mentor junior engineers, and participate in debugging and continuous improvement efforts. The work is primarily in an office environment with occasional testing in labs or proving grounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, robotics, autonomous systems, localization, or related engineering domains.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ software development.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Knowledge of Inertial Measurement Technology (IMU/INS).
  • Experience with State Estimation algorithms and concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Expertise in software debugging, profiling, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve complex software and application issues.
  • Experience interpreting system designs, technical specifications, and functional requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience developing and validating production-quality embedded or robotic software solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GNSS, localization, navigation, and sensor fusion concepts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System), SLAM, Kalman Filters, and autonomous systems is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of experience in Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or Advanced Navigation Solutions.
  • Experience implementing Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), and Error-State Filters.
  • Strong knowledge of Localization, State Estimation, and Sensor Fusion techniques.
  • Experience with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) and graph optimization libraries.
  • Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS) and robotics software frameworks.
  • In-depth understanding of GNSS, Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), and Inertial Measurement Units (IMU).
  • Strong foundation in 3D Geometry, Linear Algebra, and Statistical Modeling.
  • Experience working with coordinate transformations and reference frame systems.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, physics-based modeling, and guidance/navigation systems.
  • Ability to research technical literature and convert concepts from research papers into production-ready software solutions.
  • Strong systems-thinking, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and develop localization algorithms and software for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.

  • Contribute to requirements definition and localization architecture design.

  • Collaborate with architects, program managers, and engineering teams to deliver robust software solutions.
  • Mentor team members and support technical problem-solving efforts.
  • Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of localization and navigation systems.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions for localization and autonomous systems.
  • Develop high-quality C++ software following established engineering standards and software development processes.
  • Implement positioning, navigation, and state estimation algorithms using GNSS, inertial, and perception-based sensor data.
  • Participate in software architecture, requirements development, and system design activities.
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve complex software and system-level issues.
  • Conduct software validation, verification, and performance testing to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, program managers, and fellow engineers.
  • Support functional safety software design and compliance activities.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, methodologies, and algorithms to enhance autonomous system capabilities.
