About The Position

The Robotics Software Engineer will develop robotics software for autonomous laboratory systems that use robot arms to run experiments supporting drug discovery and gene editing. The role focuses on building motion-planning and trajectory-optimization capabilities for changing lab environments, and delivering software that operates on physical robot hardware. Engineers test across simulation and real robots and use computer vision to help robots manipulate equipment designed for human hands. The role also involves working directly with partner scientists at customer sites to address their needs.

Requirements

  • 2–8 years of experience in robotics software.
  • Strong Python skills; C++ is a plus.
  • Experience shipping software to physical robot hardware; this is essential.
  • Experience in motion planning, kinematics, dynamics, or control.
  • A degree in robotics, computer science, EECS, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with manipulation or pick-and-place work.
  • Experience with lab automation.
  • Experience with MuJoCo or PyBullet.
  • C++ skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build motion-planning and trajectory-optimization capabilities for robot arms in busy, changing laboratory environments.
  • Ship software that runs on physical robot hardware and test it in simulation and on real robots.
  • Use computer vision to enable robots to handle equipment designed for human hands.
  • Work directly with partner scientists at customer sites to solve their problems.

Benefits

  • Competitive equity in a fast-growing company.
  • Visa sponsorship and transfers are available.
  • Broad role scope, including deployment, platform, and project-lead work rather than a single narrow track.
  • Ownership of major parts of the robotics stack.
