About The Position

Stryker is hiring a Senior Robotics Mechanical Engineer for its Mako and Enabling Technology team to design and develop robotic medical devices. The role focuses on engineering components and modules that support medical technologies and patient outcomes. The position is based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is hybrid or onsite, with employees required to work onsite 3–4 days per week and live within commuting distance. Travel is 10%.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge and understanding of robotics mechanical engineering practices and design principles.
• Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.
• Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design.
• Ability to communicate basic plans and technical information to team members.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and verify medical-device components and modules under minimal supervision.
• Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and produce subsystem-level designs.
• Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to demonstrate proof of concept.
• Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures to solve problems.
• Demonstrate an advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
• Follow applicable industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies related to regulatory requirements.
• Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
• Take ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate as a key team member and build strong working relationships.
