About The Position

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, they are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience. The Risk Lead plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects by identifying, assessing, and managing project risks throughout the PACT project lifecycle. This position works closely with project managers, estimators, health and safety teams, and senior leadership to ensure proactive risk mitigation strategies are in place, enabling informed decision‑making and enhancing project performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Risk Management, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management or large infrastructure or aviation construction projects.
  • Professional designations, such as P. Eng., PMP, PMI-RMP, CRM, AACE.
  • Solid understanding of construction and progressive delivery models.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, with experience leading risk meetings and collaborative sessions.
  • Risk Register development and management experience.
  • Quantitative Risk Analysis (QCRA/QSRA) experience.
  • Ability to distill complex risk scenarios into clear, actionable strategies and communicate them effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proficiency with Safran Risk Manager, Active Risk Manager (ARM) or other risk management data bases.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on aviation infrastructure projects or in highly regulated environments is preferred.
  • Experience with other projects controls functions is an asset (Schedule, Cost, Quality).
  • Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis tools, such as Safran Risk Analyzer, Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA) are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sub-program and project risk registers, maintaining an up-to-date record of identified risks and their mitigation strategies.
  • Qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with the sub-program team to facilitate joint risk evaluation, fostering a culture of shared responsibility in identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Provide valuable input to the QCRA/QSRA process, contributing insights to inform target price and schedule decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to proactively manage and mitigate risks throughout all phases of the project.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management standards and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as relevant to the role.
