The Opportunity Leverage your industry expertise and join our expanding team in this Senior Risk Management Consultant (Sr. RMC) role for the Columbia, Greenville, Spartanburg, SC and Augusta, GA areas. The Senior Risk Management Consultant will require a deep understanding of insurance, construction, safety, and risk management function. Ability to provide an experienced and proficient review, assessment, and service of current and potential clients. In addition to performing the duties of the Risk Management Consultant, the successful candidate will handle larger more complex accounts and claims analysis as well as mentor and train new consultants. The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve. This field role will allow you to set your schedule working from your home office; you will be in the field about 3-4 days per week with overnight travel as needed. You will travel to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times a year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in safety/insurance risk management or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office), SharePoint, and ImageRight experience are a plus.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work from home with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management, organizational/prioritization & self-motivation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation/training skills.
  • Advanced ability to build strong relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers.
  • Advanced negotiation and sales skills.
  • Deals with complex situations holistically and with confidence.

Nice To Haves

  • SharePoint, and ImageRight experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying, scheduling, and consulting with prospects and policyholders in assigned territory.
  • Conduct consultations to identify and evaluate possible exposures and recommend controls as needed.
  • Complete consultation, training, service reports, and follow-up communications within the required timeframe.
  • Work on special projects and assignments as required, in addition to regularly scheduled work.
  • Conduct safety training as requested by clients, agency partners, associations, or managers.
  • Discuss and provide Risk Management services and marketing materials to clients, prospects, and agencies.
  • Participate in co-travels and mentor consultants on soft skills.
  • Maintain consistent contact with Underwriters, Claims adjusters, and Sales Territory Managers in support of agents and policyholders within the assigned region.
  • Serve as a Risk Management resource to clients, prospects, agents, and company personnel.
  • Conduct business in a professional manner to conserve and protect the corporate assets of Builders Mutual.
  • Work with leadership in support of corporate goals and initiatives.
  • Improve personal abilities and technical knowledge by attending classes or applicable training and event representation.
  • Develop safety information and presentations as requested.
  • Work with Large Market Specialists on LMA process and documentation.
  • Act as team lead for designated responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Manager.
