About The Position

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) department is responsible for designing and implementing TDBG's Operational Risk Management Framework. This framework outlines the Bank's governance, policies, processes, and practices for identifying, assessing, reporting, mitigating, and controlling operational risk. Within this structure, C-ORM functions as an independent risk management unit, ensuring the Bank maintains an effective operational risk management program aligned with its risk appetite. This role provides a wide range of risk analysis, reporting, monitoring, and support for business partner requests. The Senior Risk Analyst will act as a specialist/expert, offering guidance and advice on various risk-related matters within the Issues Management team. This may include supporting, overseeing, commenting on, and analyzing strategies related to the Issues Management program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operationalize standards, policies, and processes to identify, report, and mitigate overall risk exposures within the Issues Management program.
  • Proactively analyze Issues Management data and produce trend analysis to inform forward-looking results.
  • Conduct independent validation of Issues Management report data and metrics to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish and provide regular risk analysis and reporting on Issues Management data.
  • Analyze and perform thematic analysis of Issues Management data.
  • Use advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate.
  • Support established enterprise-wide risk escalation, review, and approval processes, data management, policies, and risk assessment processes.
  • Provide regular commentary and industry analysis in supporting the development/maintenance/oversight of policies/procedures/practices related to the Issues Management program.
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to the Issues Management program.
  • Ensure Issues Management policies, processes, and practices are well-managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities.
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure business operations are compliant with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g., financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets).
  • Participate in cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert and provide guidance for complex situations.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/delivery of presentations/communications to management or a broader audience.
  • Conduct meaningful analysis at the enterprise and segment level using Issues Management results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and assess the effectiveness of programs/policies/practices.
  • Monitor productivity and assess efficiency levels within the Issues Management team and implement continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist.
  • Support the implementation of remediation plans to address issues.
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or oversight functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest.
  • Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for Issues Management and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of ORM programs and related tools and techniques.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training within own team.
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status or useful information related to day-to-day activities.
  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Works independently and performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of Issues management data to inform future trends.
  • Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area.
  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate.
  • Applies best practices to implement process, product, or service improvements.
  • Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels.
