Senior Risk Analyst

The job overview for this position is to build a risk foundation for Gravity Payments, focusing on risk analysis and management. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience and will be responsible for developing operations to enhance risk practices and create a positive merchant experience. They will also have the opportunity to create new processes, implement new technologies, and coach and develop team members. The core responsibilities include implementing strategies to reduce fraudulent activities, performing credit and fraud analysis, enhancing risk management operations, and managing parameters to ensure a smooth merchant experience. The preferred skills include previous risk analyst experience in the payments industry, knowledge of card brand and processor rules, and the ability to coach and develop team members.

• Work with Risk and Underwriting teams to implement strategies that reduce or prevent fraudulent activities and credit and fraud losses
• Perform deep credit and fraud analysis on merchant processing activity, financials, and/or profiles to assess and mitigate risk
• Identify opportunities to enhance risk management operations on a day-to-day basis
• Perform risk reviews based on daily activity or periodic cadences
• Review risk losses on a monthly basis across all channels and adjust the approach based on findings
• Coach and mentor teams at Gravity and external clients on risk operations and best practices
• Manage parameters across the portfolio to ensure a smooth merchant experience while limiting financial risk exposure
• Develop an understanding of the portfolio and adjust policies and reviews accordingly
• Interact with merchants, Sales teams, Customer Facing Teams, and Underwriting teams to solve risk-related issues collaboratively and with a sense of urgency
• Identify trends and conduct root-cause analysis to isolate key performance drivers
• Creatively problem-solve complex situations with merchants and partners to find mutually desired solutions
• Utilize data manipulation and quantitative analysis to manage credit risk exposure across a large portfolio

• Multiple years of experience in risk analysis and management

• 5-10 years of previous Risk Analyst experience in the payments industry
• Experience with Risk at an ISO and/or working with Fiserv/First Data
• Knowledge of card brand and processor rules
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members
• Demonstrated success in finding creative solutions

• Competitive salary range of $80,000 - $170,000
