About The Position

To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-oriented individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the San Jose site as a Senior RF System Validation Engineer. In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets. As part of the Design Validation Engineering Team in R&D, define, design, and execute performance characterizations of High-Power RF Matching Systems and related modules, such as sensors and electromechanical control systems. Use and create as needed automated software tools for the collection and analysis of large and complex data sets, extract relevant results, and communicate findings via comprehensive test reports. Review resulting data and conclusions with internal stakeholders, utilize feedback for ongoing improvements of test and analysis methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering with an emphasis on RF and control systems, system engineering, or equivalent technical expertise.
  • Experience in systems development, preferably with semiconductor manufacturing hardware.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with the set-up and operation of complex RF test equipment, including VNA, signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, kW-level RF generators, oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with applied metrology and experience with pushing the performance limits of commercially available test equipment.
  • Ability to toggle between time and frequency domains.
  • Experience with scripting tools (Python) to automate design validation tests and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis methods for large and complex data sets.
  • Curious and analytical!
  • Proven ability to identify, characterize, and solve complex electrical system problems.
  • Methodical and creative when locating and identifying the “needle in the haystack” is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plasma high-power RF delivery systems and plasma measurement systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, adapt, troubleshoot, and execute automated tests for comprehensive product performance characterization of High-Power RF Matching Systems Design Validation Testing (DVT) of High-Power RF Matching Networks.
  • Develop, use, and adapt automated tools for the collection and analysis of large and complex data sets, extract relevant results, and communicate via comprehensive test reports.
  • Troubleshoot and debug test station and data analysis results.
