About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Senior Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, day-shift position at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the region’s first Magnet hospital. It houses a Level I Adult Trauma Center, a burn trauma unit, a nationally ranked heart program, and Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, and serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. The hospital provides services across heart and vascular care, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a neonatal intensive care unit. The role requires an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, a state Respiratory license, NBRC RRT certification, BLS at the time of hire, and two years of Respiratory Care experience. The full-time base pay range is $41.74–$62.48 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. Compensation within the range may vary according to qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Requirements

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
State Respiratory license.
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
BLS required at the time of hire.
Two years of Respiratory Care experience.
