This position involves processing all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or mail. The clerk will identify guest reservation needs, determine appropriate room types, and verify availability and rates. They will explain guarantee, special rate, and cancellation policies, accommodate special requests, and answer questions about property facilities and services. The role requires utilizing sales techniques to maximize revenue, communicating information about designated VIP reservations, and inputting/accessing data in the reservation system. Additionally, the clerk will address challenges in accommodating rooming requests by communicating with appropriate departments, oversee the accuracy of room blocks and reservations, input group rooming lists, revise room blocks as needed, and set up billing accounts according to accounting policies. The position also requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality, protecting company assets, and providing excellent guest service according to company standards. This includes welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential, as is developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals. The role also involves complying with quality assurance standards, visually verifying information, and performing other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
