Join our Team! We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Researcher to join the Division of Cancer Predisposition within the Oncology Department. This is a dynamic role that offers the opportunity to support innovative research initiatives that advance understanding of the germline genetic factors underlying predisposition to cancer and primary immunodeficiency. The individual in this role will perform a variety of basic laboratory research tasks determined by the scope of the particular research project/study. Additionally, the Senior Researcher will perform tasks related to the research project independently, but within specific guidelines which are subject to review by the supervisor and/or other research staff. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment and is passionate about supporting cutting-edge research to advance the treatment of children with cancer and catastrophic immune system disorders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific area is required.
  • Two (2) years of research experience is required.
  • No prior experience is required with a Master’s degree.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of underlying concepts and principles of experimental design.
  • Experience with the most widely used techniques used in the home laboratory.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform procedures using established or modified techniques/protocols
  • Implement new but established protocols without individual training
  • Troubleshoot experiments and identify anomalies in own data
  • Consistently monitors current literature and trends within the field
  • Accurately record experimental procedures and data
  • Prepare and report results/ data leading to posters, presentations, or publications
  • Provide guidance to less-experienced team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
