About The Position

The Senior Research Support Associate will support ongoing projects in the Biology - Weissbourd Lab with contributions ranging from wet lab work to computational expertise, engineering, and other fields. Examples of work include laboratory experiments such as microscopy, molecular biology (cloning, RNA extraction, etc.), behavior experiments, and generating transgenic jellyfish by microinjection of oocytes. Computational biology tasks may involve developing imaging processing pipelines for new microscopes, solving machine vision problems for behavior tracking, and analyzing and modeling neural activity and/or behavior data. Engineering responsibilities include building novel microscopy and/or behavior recording setups.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • A minimum of two years of laboratory experience
  • Experience with aquaculture
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology/neuroscience, Computer science, engineering, or closely related field.

Responsibilities
