About The Position

This position serves as a principal contributor to the development, implementation, and management of research projects and is responsible for key aspects of assigned projects from development through completion. The position applies advanced research methodologies, data collection techniques, and analytical approaches to support departmental research objectives. Responsibilities may include coordinating research activities and providing direction and guidance to research staff involved in assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
  • A minimum of 5 years related research experience.
  • Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods

Responsibilities

  • Develop objectives and design of research and data collection procedures.
  • Conceptualize, initiate and execute research goals for project.
  • Conduct and coordinate advanced research studies.
  • Analyze and interpret data and results and refine study design.
  • Develop and write advanced study protocols.
  • Evaluate current developments and research findings to determine their potential applicability to research projects.
  • Replicate, refine and add/develop new research approaches based on project needs.
  • Advise on new direction for research based on study results.
  • Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis and implement changes as needed.
  • Prepare, organize and communicate research results.
  • Write papers, grants, and other documents for publication based on research findings.
  • Author and co-author articles for publication and present at scientific symposia and conferences.
  • May act as supervisor or team lead in directing and coordinating the work of lower level staff.
  • Guide, train and advise lower level researchers and students on techniques, methods and procedures.
  • Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met.
  • Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Develop research objectives, methodologies, and data collection procedures in alignment with project and departmental goals.
  • Conceptualize, initiate, coordinate, and execute research activities and project objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret research data and findings and refine research methods and approaches as appropriate.
  • Develop and document advanced research protocols, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Refine existing research approaches and develop new methodologies based on project needs.
  • Recommend potential directions for research based on findings and project outcomes.
  • Monitor research project activities and progress on an ongoing basis and implement modifications as needed to support project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Identify and address issues that may affect successful project completion.
  • Prepare, organize, analyze, and communicate research findings and project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of manuscripts, grant applications, reports, presentations, and other scholarly or research-related materials based on research activities and findings.
  • Coordinate research activities and provide guidance and direction to research staff, students, or other personnel involved in assigned projects, as appropriate.
  • Perform other research-related duties as assigned in support of departmental and institutional objectives.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
