The company has a pipeline of investigational therapies for oncology and neurodegenerative diseases and achieved FDA approval for a PROTAC protein degrader therapy in May 2026. This position is a lab-focused, hands-on scientific role driving neuroscience discovery programs forward. It requires expertise in applied cellular neuroscience, with a focus on biochemical, immunocyto-chemical, and histochemical pharmacology readouts using primary cells and tissues of the CNS. High-content imaging (HCI) and histo-chemistry experience are strongly preferred. The role demands collaboration in a matrixed environment, with core competencies in plate-based pharmacology, target validation, and data analysis. An aptitude for leading technological advancements and training other scientists is also essential. This position is based at the New Haven, CT headquarters and requires regular in-lab experimental work.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to balance speed with rigor in a fast-paced, dynamic drug discovery environment as an assay designer and hands-on cell biologist.
  • Aptitude for systematic troubleshooting of biological assay systems.
  • Energetic, positive leader by example, with the capacity and enthusiasm to grow into a leader of a small team of scientists.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
  • Ability to lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to gown/degown PPE.
  • Ability to use a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • High-content imaging (HCI) experience strongly preferred.

  • Neuroscience background with pharma/biotech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement in vitro pharmacology readouts utilizing cellular biochemical, functional, and image-based endpoints, including ELISA/MSD, quantitative WB, HCI, and bioluminescence-based assay formats.
  • Provide technical and scientific leadership in immuno-histochemical endpoints in CNS and other tissues.
  • Contribute to a collaborative HCI working group focused on best practices and assay design challenges.
  • Generate data to support program decision making and communicate results to teams and senior leadership.
  • Set and maintain high standards for data analysis and quality control, and drive discussions on innovative data interrogation methods.
  • Interface with the automated biology organization to identify automation-amendable assay strategies and drive the transfer of automation-ready assays.
