The Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER) at Boston Medical Center is a world-class center for maternal child health advocacy, training and research. Its mission is to bring about health equity by collaborating with community-based partners and providing technical assistance, training, evaluation, and inspiration. CHEER focuses on underserved populations, with a particular emphasis on maternal child health and nutrition. Under the supervision of CHEER’s Director and Associate Director, the Senior Research Project Manager (SRPM) will support the CHAMPS National program. CHAMPS is a hospital-based initiative that promotes evidence-based maternity practices, with the ultimate goal of increasing breastfeeding rates and decreasing racial disparities in breastfeeding. The new CHAMPS National program is a CDC funded program, which expands hospital enrollment to 100 sites around the US and its territories. The SRPM will develop protocols, assessment instruments, monitor program implementation, provide training, and assist with manuscripts, presentations and reporting to the CDC. The SRPM will provide support to CHAMPS National hospitals, enabling access to trainings, resources, and QI training. The SRPM will function as liaisons between CHAMPS National team members, QI specialists, and trainers, and hospital contacts.
