About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Research Engineer who will perform research and product development across multiple engineering disciplines to create advanced manufacturing technologies for defense critical electronic systems. This is a hands-on multidisciplinary role that will work closely under the guidance of senior technologists in a fast-paced rapidly changing manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience developing technology for defense applications, with demonstrated understanding of manufacturability concepts, strong analytical and organizational abilities, and proven financial/budgeting expertise
Proven ability to lead teams and manage conflicts in a fast paced environment
Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Obtaining a security clearance requires US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

Proposal writing experience and familiarity with SBIR or similar government funding mechanisms
PMI (or equivalent) project management certification
Expert knowledge of metal additive manufacturing techniques
Materials laboratory testing experience (mechanical testing, SEM EDS, microstructural analysis)
Proficiency with CAD and manufacturing execution tools (SolidWorks/Creo, SAP/Solumina) and familiarity with regulatory quality systems (AS9100, DFARS, Exostar)

Responsibilities

Lead cross functional teams to develop, refine, and commercialize advanced manufacturing technologies (with emphasis on metal additive manufacturing), ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards such as AS9100, DFARS, and Exostar, while overseeing quality and first article inspections.
Design, build, and test technology demonstrators; provide technical guidance using SolidWorks/Creo, SAP/Solumina, and support materials lab testing (mechanical testing, SEM EDS, microstructural analysis).
Identify and secure new funding by writing proposals (e.g., Small Business Independent Research (SBIR) grants), present technical progress to senior leadership, and manage project finances, budgets, and subcontractor relationships.
