The Senior Research Associate (Research Technician III) will compile and interpret statistical data in the investigation of public health issues. This role involves preparing detailed plans for studies, preparing detailed reports on phases of major studies, and assisting the Principal Investigator with day-to-day study activities. Responsibilities include supervising recruitment, data collection, and data management, as well as coordinating activities across studies to ensure smooth and timely implementation. The incumbent will recommend, devise, and apply procedures for proposed studies, develop and work with staff on programming and machine processing of data, and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data. They will prepare interpretative reports and graphic presentations, supervise and assist other technical research staff, and initiate or recommend new studies or investigations. The role involves representing research staff at meetings and conferences to present findings, programs, and objectives. Additionally, the technician will work with and supervise research team members to ensure study protocols are followed and materials are produced to the highest scientific standards in a timely manner, tracking planned research activities across study sites and institutions. Key roles include building and maintaining systems for literature reviews, data collection, and dissemination of study findings, such as developing abstracts, research presentations, and preparing findings for diverse audiences. Supervisory responsibilities include directing small research staff and students in data compilation and analysis.
