Senior Research Analyst, Research Board

About The Position

The Gartner Research Board (GRB) is a division of Gartner dedicated to critically thinking about the strategic issues confronting technology executives at the world's largest, most complex organizations (global companies and government agencies). Today, our clients face daunting obstacles including disruption from startups, the rise of entirely new business models, geopolitical headwinds, and AI-enabled transformation efforts. The mission of the GRB is simple: to carry out the big-picture, forward-looking conceptual thinking about such obstacles that CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and other technology executives faced with pressing strategic concerns do not always have the time or bandwidth to do. We place a high level of trust in our associates and expect them to rise to the occasion. You'll be successful at the GRB if you are creative and curious; an independent thinker and a team player; a fast learner and a great writer. SRAs come from a spectrum of backgrounds, including public policy, economics, sociology, engineering, journalism, the sciences, and history. No matter what their background, a successful SRA is someone who loves to think critically and deeply. As a Senior Research Analyst, you will contribute to strategic research focused on the challenges facing the world's largest enterprises. You will work closely with peer researchers and research product owners to identify meaningful patterns, develop evidence-based perspectives, and translate findings into insights relevant to senior technology executives. Research topics often involve competing perspectives, limited precedent, and rapidly evolving markets where there are no obvious answers. Senior Research Analysts serve as key contributors who help shape research direction, develop hypotheses, generate original insights, and drive critical components of study execution. While not a requirement of every assignment, Senior Research Analysts may also lead research studies based on business need, topic complexity, and individual experience.
