About The Position

ICF's Youth & Adult Education Portfolio is currently seeking a Senior Research Analyst. In this role you will apply your academic knowledge and work experience to contribute to projects related to K-20 education, substance use prevention, and other social programs. As a Senior Research Analyst, you will apply your academic knowledge and work experience and gain exposure to major projects related to research, evaluation, and technical assistance in K-20 and adult education, with particular emphasis on substance use prevention programs. Clients include federal agencies, state education agencies, and other public, private, and nonprofit organizations. Applicants must be US citizens and must be able to pass a background check required for project work, including no use of illicit substances (e.g., cannabis), in the past 7 years. The position is on-call remote.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, public health, sociology, psychology, public policy, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection, research analysis, and/or program evaluation
  • Contributing to high-quality, professionally written products; and taking responsibility and ownership of research tasks.
  • Expertise with SAS code
  • Applicants must be US citizens due to federal contract and must be able to pass a SF-86 background check

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of prevention research and/or K-20 and/or adult education in the United States
  • Knowledge of experimental, quasi-experimental, and mixed method research designs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment while meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience using other statistical packages such as SPSS, R, or Python
  • Experience creating data visualizations to help audiences understand and make use of information
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, including experience with developing and delivering presentations.
  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of research and evaluation plans that include various designs and mixed methods
  • Developing and implementing analysis plans for qualitative and quantitative data
  • Contributing to technical reports for audiences of researchers and practitioners
  • Conducting comprehensive quality reviews of work products before submission to client
  • Developing SAS code for longitudinal projects, as well as reviewing and refining previously written code
  • Collaborating with research, evaluation, and analytic staff with a variety of backgrounds
  • Playing a supporting role in proposal development for new work
