About The Position

ABC News Washington is looking for a Senior Reporter to join our Washington reporting team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist with excellent reporting and writing skills with fluency in reporting/writing about international affairs, national security and intelligence, and politics; with the ability to manage and file breaking news stories in a fast-paced news environment with excellent editorial judgement and experience in field producing. This is an in-office role 5 days a week. The candidate should be willing to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends. The ability to travel on short notice is expected.

Requirements

A minimum of seven years' experience reporting/producing in the news industry.
Strong editorial and storytelling skills.
Strong writing/scripting skills.
Experience covering national security, intelligence issues, and/or politics.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling developing news situations.
Passion for news/politics and the ability to pitch and provide dynamic ideas for all ABC News platforms.
Writing and reporting experience producing video content.
Field producing experience is highly desirable.
Experience booking interviews and working under tight deadlines.
