About The Position

As a Senior Rendering Programmer (Mobile – Unreal), you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Unreal Engine rendering systems optimized for mobile platforms. You focus on delivering high‑quality visuals within strict performance, memory, and power constraints across a wide range of mobile devices. You work closely with Art, Tech Art, Engine, and Gameplay teams to ensure rendering solutions scale effectively while meeting visual and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in C++, with experience developing rendering systems in Unreal Engine.
  • At least 6–8 years of professional experience in game programming, with shipped titles including mobile platforms.
  • Professional, hands‑on experience working with Unreal Engine rendering pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of real‑time rendering concepts including lighting, shading, materials, and post‑processing.
  • Experience optimizing rendering systems for mobile GPUs and constrained hardware environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile platform constraints including performance, memory, bandwidth, and power consumption.
  • Experience profiling and debugging rendering performance on mobile devices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills for performance‑critical systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Art and Engineering teams.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce or Git.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience modifying or extending Unreal Engine rendering systems for mobile platforms.
  • Experience working across iOS and Android platforms and their graphics APIs.
  • Familiarity with mobile GPU architectures and rendering optimization strategies.
  • Experience scaling rendering solutions across a wide range of device capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain rendering systems and features within Unreal Engine for mobile platforms.
  • Work on shaders, materials, lighting, post‑processing, and rendering systems optimized for mobile GPUs.
  • Collaborate with Art and Tech Art to develop scalable visual solutions suited for mobile performance constraints.
  • Optimize rendering systems for performance, memory usage, bandwidth, and power consumption on mobile devices.
  • Maintain and improve existing rendering code to ensure stability across a wide range of mobile hardware configurations.
  • Debug complex rendering issues involving shaders, lighting, GPU performance, and visual artefacts on mobile platforms.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented C++ and shader code following Unreal Engine best practices.
  • Profile and analyze rendering performance using Unreal Engine tools and mobile platform profilers (e.g., Android GPU Inspector, Xcode Instruments).
  • Contribute to rendering pipeline decisions to ensure efficient scalability from high‑end to low‑end mobile devices.
  • Support integration and optimization of Unreal Engine rendering features for mobile targets.
  • Collaborate with Engine and Platform teams to ensure proper handling of platform‑specific rendering constraints (iOS and Android).
  • Mentor intermediate and junior programmers through technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Stay current with Unreal Engine rendering updates and mobile graphics best practices.
