Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • An Associate of Arts degree, or one (1) year of related experience working with youth
  • A valid in-state driver's license, meeting Company insurability requirements
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds, or to assess a load and request assistance as needed

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and implement a comprehensive, diverse recreation program that appeals to the student population, ensuring compliance with the recreational schedule and posting weekly and monthly schedules.
  • Coordinate recreation activities with Career Preparation and Social Development (including evening programming) and connect students with Center and local community resources.
  • Document student participation and accountability throughout.
  • Promote health and wellness across the Center, and ensure safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.
  • Maintain and control equipment inventory, recommend purchases, and perform equipment repairs as needed keeping recreation facilities well organized and in top condition.
  • Coordinate staff coverage so student areas are supervised and ensure adherence to rest and meal break requirements.
  • Provide high-quality supervision that positively influences student behavior with respect and accountability, and provide timely operational support that advances Center program objectives.
  • Follow all integrity guidelines and ensure no manipulation of student data.
  • Mentor and model the Career Success Standards, communicate clearly, resolve problems with sound judgment, provide transportation as required, partner with staff across all departments, and accept direction from the Center Director, Duty Officer, or Shift Manager including other duties as assigned.
