This is a remote, full-time key position responsible for reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing. The successful candidate will provide technical support to estimating, project management, and operations teams, and help establish the company’s estimating standards, production rates, historical cost database, and reinforcing-steel preconstruction process. The role involves independently reviewing structural drawings and specifications, performing reinforcing-steel takeoffs, developing labor and material pricing, understanding detailing requirements, identifying constructability issues, and evaluating project cost and risk. The position also supports project turnover, change-order pricing, field teams, and preconstruction planning. The candidate will help build the estimating/detailing function through standardized procedures, templates, quality-control processes, software selection, mentoring, and department development. The role reports to the President / Executive Management and includes periodic travel to project sites and company meetings. The preferred background is substantial hands-on reinforcing-steel industry experience, especially with a fabricator, reinforcing contractor, placer, or concrete contractor. A formal college degree is not required when the candidate has substantial relevant industry experience. A highly competitive annual performance bonus is based on estimating accuracy, gross-margin performance, successful project awards, department development, process improvements, project support, and overall company performance.
