About The Position

The City of Fresno is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Limited Senior Real Estate Agent to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will provide direct oversight of the City’s property lease portfolio, guiding complex property management activities that support the City’s long-term development, asset management, and operational objectives. The successful candidate will lead advanced negotiation and property management functions. This position places a strong emphasis on complex lease negotiations with diverse commercial, industrial, and specialty tenants, drafting and developing complex leases and related agreements, creating and refining contract language for clarity, compliance, and enforceability, executing and overseeing contract agreements, ensuring terms are properly implemented, enforcing compliance with contract and lease provisions through consistent monitoring and follow-up, and developing and maintaining a formal lease collection and tracking process to support operational accuracy and financial accountability. Additional responsibilities include marketing City-owned properties, conducting detailed appraisals, and performing cost analyses. This assignment is expected to last up to six (6) months but may be extended upon approval by the City Manager. Acceptance by the candidate and appointment to this limited assignment is in no way a guarantee of permanent employment. The selected incumbent will receive benefits as afforded to Unit 13 employee's but will not participate in the City's Retirement Plan. The current vacancy exists in the General Services Department. Immediate and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three (3) months from the date the eligible list is created, with the option of extending that period for up to a maximum of two years at the City's discretion. If the examination process is suspended for this recruitment, the eligible list may be limited to three (3) months.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in real estate, public administration, economics, or closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the appraisal of, and negotiation for the acquisition, disposition of land improvements and property rights.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required at time of appointment.
  • Candidates considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current copy of their driving record.
  • Eligibles certified for consideration for hire will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and a Department of Justice fingerprint prior to employment with the City of Fresno.
