About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Production Specialist to join the B-52 Quality Team located in San Antonio, TX! This role involves reviewing and validating product non-conformances, quality procedures, and engineering requirements. The specialist will perform analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations, and processes against Quality Management System requirements, company procedures, contract requirements, or government regulations. A key aspect of this role is applying knowledge of aerospace design, systems, and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems. The position also includes training and mentoring fellow employees in the Quality Management System, performing root cause analysis on non-conformances to identify causes and prevent recurrence, and independently developing, modifying, and documenting actions for problem resolution or corrective/preventive actions. The specialist will obtain corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes, negotiate concurrence, obtain commitments for preventive and corrective actions, prioritize quality activities, and ensure problem resolution. Additionally, they will review and validate corrective action plans, identify their effectiveness, and review and approve Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconforming hardware products/processes. The role guides the validation of configuration management, quality procedures, and material review policies for software product delivery and develops software system processes to support changing industry standards. Finally, the specialist will review and implement corrective action on audit results, interpret industry standards, and provide recommendations for implementation, while also creating analytical reports and coordinating with responsible parties for internal/external distribution. This position works under general direction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality role
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.

  • Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectivity to ensure completion.
  • Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes.

  • Develops software system processes to support changing industry standards.
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements.
