Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic) or equivalent degree with electronic manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in the quality department with strong technical knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical components and systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills using 8D, A3, DMAIC, SPC, DOE, PDCA, 5P, 5 Why, FT, process mapping, and/or equivalent quality tools, methods, and techniques.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for Quality and innovation.
  • Experience working with remote teams and CMs (Contract Manufacturers).

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) / 6 Sigma certification.
  • Good understanding of statistical methods, continuous improvement, lean methodology (Green or six-sigma black belt certification will be plus)
  • Practical working experience in MS-Word, Excel, power point, MS project and Minitab.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product design quality with the Design team during product development, ensuring all MPS and customer quality requirements are followed through EVT/DVT and product pre-release.
  • Involvement in FMEA (Design and Process) and other stage gates during product development.
  • Drive NPI Quality: Partner with hardware design teams during early prototyping to execute Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
  • Develop and execute quality plans to ensure manufacturing follows customer-specific requirements and product quality.
  • Data analysis of past problem history and warranty data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Thoroughness and accuracy in all aspects of quality control.
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and interpret results.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Active involvement in ECO and stop-order processes to make them efficient and effective.
  • Lead deep-dive failure analysis (FA) with FA engineers on hardware defects using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone to resolve design, manufacturing, or component issues.
  • Work with FA engineers with focus to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions for future mitigation of similar failure modes by participating in FMEA meetings.
  • Promote a preventive and proactive culture (poka-yoke).
  • Understanding of lean methodology to decrease non-value-added activities for cost savings.
  • Work with manufacturing sites/quality teams to ensure successful execution of customer quality control plans for manufacturing of conforming products.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly presentations for global quality.
  • Active participation in ISO external/internal audits and support in implementation of Murata’s QMS (Quality Management System).
  • Managing customer and management of SCARs/CAT/8Ds, and stop order processes.
