About The Position

Helix Linear Technologies is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to own inspection, nonconformance resolution, and customer-facing quality issues across product lines including lead screws, ball screws, linear actuators, custom assemblies, and precision components for medical device, aerospace, and defense customers. This is a senior, high-trust role with succession in mind, offering an experienced quality professional the opportunity to grow into broader quality leadership responsibilities. The engineer will lead technical response to nonconforming parts, customer concerns, and first article inspections, while developing systems that prevent issues from recurring. The role owns inspection strategy and plans, nonconformance and corrective-action processes, first article inspections, measurement-system validation, supplier quality, and quality-management-system activities. It also serves as the site's subject-matter authority on AS9100, leads internal audit planning and execution, and supports certification and surveillance audit readiness. The position involves close collaboration with engineering, production, suppliers, customers, and the Quality Manager, as well as mentoring quality engineers and inspectors. The work is based in Helix's clean, climate-controlled precision manufacturing facility, which uses advanced manufacturing equipment and specialized assembly and test systems. Helix offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, retirement plans, PTO, major holidays off, and steady daytime hours. Applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents) due to U.S. export control laws.

Requirements

  • Strong AS9100 fluency and hands-on experience owning certification and surveillance audit cycles end-to-end.
  • GD&T fluency; prior exposure is ideal, and training may be provided as needed.
  • Hands-on Gauge R&R and measurement system analysis (MSA) experience.
  • MRB/DMR experience and ability to translate that discipline into a clean RMA process.
  • Hands-on CMM and vision-system experience.
  • Proficiency with inspection planning tools, including InspectionXpert, SolidWorks, and Excel.
  • Clear communication skills with machinists on the floor and customers on calls.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents) due to U.S. export control laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; equivalent hands-on quality or manufacturing experience will be considered.

  • SPC analysis experience using Minitab.

  • Represent quality on customer calls from nonconformance notification through resolution.
  • Support customer audits with substantive documentation and clear technical responses.
  • Own inspection strategy and plans across product lines, defining what is measured, when, and to what standard.
  • Apply GD&T in inspection planning, tolerance stack analysis, and FAI review.
  • Conduct Gauge R&R studies to validate measurement systems and gauge capability.
  • Lead AS9102 first article inspections, coordinating documentation, execution, and customer acceptance.
  • Use CMM, vision-system, and SPC data to identify process trends and prevent escapes.
  • Support new product introduction with DFM reviews, process validation, and capability studies.
  • Support the quality management system, including control plans, work instructions, and corrective-action closure.
  • Support AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance and participate in certification work.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments, define incoming quality requirements, and drive supplier corrective action.
