About The Position

This position is for a Senior Production Quality Engineer in Burnsville Minnesota. The production quality engineer is the primary quality focal for production and value stream support. Some of the primary responsibilities of the Product Quality Engineer include: Customer returned product investigation, delivered quality corrective action and site wide read across, non-conforming material review, change review board support, manufacturing improvement initiatives, quality control and improvement initiatives (PPAP, RTX-Zero), and new product introduction support.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Basic understanding of problem-solving methods – i.e. 8D, root cause analysis, Apollo etc. – and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problem
  • Basic knowledge of the key phases and requirements of an effective new product development and launch system – i.e. APQP, Stride, etc. – and has basic knowledge of the associated tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow, Preventive Maintenance, Machine Runoff, etc.
  • Basic understanding of the standards, implementation and certification process of Quality Management Systems such as AS/EN9100, ISO-9001, or any other industry-specific standard or regulation.
  • Basic understanding of the requirements of customer-specific Quality System certification programs.
  • Support the organization in audit preparation and corrective action.
  • Basic knowledge of the tools and techniques of Lean Manufacturing such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S - Workplace Organization, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Total Productive Maintenance, Mistake Proofing, etc.
  • Basic Understanding the concept of Cost of Quality and specifically of the Cost of Non-Conformance.
  • Uses Cost of Quality report to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction.
  • Ability to solve problems of limited scope and complexity

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including requirements derived from AS9145 and/or AS13100.
  • Knowledgeable in the 8D process and review C/A plans with the product quality team
  • Exposure to quality tools (RCCA, PPAP, MPR)
