The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 6 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. This role is responsible for developing program or project quality system processes and supporting product quality improvements. The Senior Quality Engineer will lead efforts to develop, maintain, and deploy quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities. This position requires the ability to lead a group of engineers, technicians, and inspectors on customer programs or projects to achieve quality goals and milestones, and to drive process and product improvement initiatives across multiple functional disciplines. The role involves performing analyses of program requirements, preparing responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules, and resource allocations, and reviewing/approving engineering/test and contractor documentation. The Senior Quality Engineer will develop and implement formalized quality system processes, procedures, and work instructions, and lead efforts to gather, organize, monitor, analyze, and report on product and process information. Ongoing quality system support includes performing internal audits and ensuring the implementation of root cause corrective actions. The role also involves leading product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards, and Failure Review Boards, evaluating and disposing of non-conforming material, and providing technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel. The Senior Quality Engineer will act as the main customer and senior management interface for resolving quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action. Additionally, the role includes developing and deploying SPC initiatives, evaluating and recommending critical supplier selections, driving supplier continuous improvement, leading customer quality program requirements, monitoring development activities for contract compliance, developing new procedural controls, generating statistical reports, and establishing programs to evaluate equipment precision and accuracy. The position is also responsible for the financial impacts of quality process controls and inspections and must support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
