About The Position

Valvoline Global Operations is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of quality control laboratory processes across Valvoline Global Operations. The primary focus is to establish and maintain global standards for laboratory testing, equipment management, documentation, and analytical precision to ensure data consistency across all production locations. The position will drive continuous improvement within laboratory environments, manage global laboratory benchmarking programs, ensure audit readiness, and provide functional governance over production laboratory sites. This role is onsite Monday - Thursday in Lexington, KY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with a focus on OEM, lab, and plant environments.
  • Deep knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in a global or multinational organization.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • IATF certification.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain global laboratory quality processes.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF) and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in production laboratories and lead initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Oversee the investigation of fluid quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of laboratory quality processes, audit findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of quality processes.
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure global compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to regional teams.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for lab quality.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
  • Other responsibilities as outlined by Valvoline as required.
