Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer (PQE) to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle with our Focal Planes Operations group. This position is an onsite role located in Goleta, CA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of in Quality, Engineering or Operations
  • Working experience applying and adhering to Quality Management Systems IS0 9001, AS9100.
  • Working experience of Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
  • Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
  • Working experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in business strategic planning and proposals, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and post-delivery support.
  • Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
  • Past or present regular member or chair of Material and Failure non-conformance review boards (MRB/FRB).
  • Experience in developing or a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation, and capture.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM) including Bases of Estimation (BOE).
  • Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
  • Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and cleanrooms.
  • Experience leading, aiding, and mentoring others in routine settings and difficult situations.
  • Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience using written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements
  • Implement quality engineering responsibilities as a member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
  • Ensure quality engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production
  • Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
  • Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
  • Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
