Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer (PQE) to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle with our Focal Planes Operations group. This position is an onsite role located in Goleta, CA.

Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of in Quality, Engineering or Operations
Working experience applying and adhering to Quality Management Systems IS0 9001, AS9100.
Working experience of Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
Working experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in business strategic planning and proposals, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and post-delivery support.
Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
Past or present regular member or chair of Material and Failure non-conformance review boards (MRB/FRB).
Experience in developing or a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation, and capture.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM) including Bases of Estimation (BOE).
Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
Experience with manufacturing processes and cleanrooms.
Experience leading, aiding, and mentoring others in routine settings and difficult situations.
Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
Experience using written and verbal presentation skills.
Experienced in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements
Implement quality engineering responsibilities as a member of a program Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
Ensure quality engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production
Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAIs)
Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
