About The Position

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will play an integral role in developing Goosehead’s enterprise technology platform. The position is responsible for ensuring software products meet and exceed quality standards through effective testing strategies. It requires exceptional attention to detail, commitment to product excellence, and an interest in staying current with industry trends and technologies.

The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and provides quality feedback and technical guidance to junior QA team members. It covers testing web and mobile applications and APIs, improving QA processes, and supporting high-quality, reliable product releases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, including Selenium and Playwright, and AI automation.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Selenium.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Highly developed software troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Excellent bug reporting skills and familiarity with bug tracking systems.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
• Experience with performance testing, security testing, and cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
• Ability to track and report on key quality metrics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to mentor and train junior team members.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement testing strategies that ensure software products meet and exceed quality standards.
• Design and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Goosehead software products.
• Conduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing of web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.
• Perform manual and automated test execution to verify applications meet business requirements.
• Analyze requirements, identify gaps, and provide feedback to development teams for improvements and bug fixes.
• Support early bug detection by working with developers on requirements analysis and refining acceptance criteria.
• Provide feedback to the development team on product quality and advocate for quality improvements and best practices.
• Monitor the software development process for compliance with standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Review and improve QA processes to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and the quality of product releases.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members.
• Track and report on key quality metrics.
