About The Position

Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), a Keywords Studio, is seeking a Senior QA Tester with prior QA experience in video games, mobile testing, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for games. As the QA test team is embedded within the development team, the candidate must work well with others, be a stellar communicator, and understand the functions of different disciplines on a game team.

Requirements

3+ years of experience of QA testing in the game industry
Experience testing for PC (Windows) and Mobile games
Strong experience with documentation and process in writing test plans
Experience in one or more defect tracking and/or test management tool
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Candidates must also be local to the BC area and be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

Testing game content for bugs and other flaws
Verifying proper implementation of features against design specifications
Working with the QA Test Lead to maintain a reporting system that tracks and verifies fixes throughout the test cycle
Designing, writing, and executing test cases during all phases of product development
Providing written and verbal reports on the state of bugs, features, performance, and playability
Escalating risks and blocking issues as soon as they are uncovered
Helping to run build verification checklists against a range of devices and mobile platforms
Being the voice of the consumer
