About The Position

Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), a Keywords Studio, is seeking a QA Tester with prior experience in video games, mobile testing, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for games. As part of the development team, you will collaborate closely with other disciplines, communicate effectively, and contribute to creating world-class, immersive titles. This role is a 6-month temporary full-time contract based on-site in our Downtown Vancouver office.

Requirements

Prior QA experience in video games, mobile testing, or a related field
A passion for gaming
Minimum one year of game testing or QA experience
Experience writing test plans and test scripts
Experience in one or more defect tracking and/or test management tool
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Local to the BC area
Eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the gaming industry
Mobile testing experience
Experience with Jira

Responsibilities

Testing game content for bugs and other flaws
Verifying proper implementation of features against design specifications
Working with the QA Test Lead to maintain a reporting system that tracks and verifies fixes throughout the test cycle
Designing, writing, and executing test cases during all phases of product development
Providing written and verbal reports on the state of bugs, features, performance, and playability
Escalating risks and blocking issues as soon as they are uncovered
Running build verification checklists against a range of devices and mobile platforms
Acting as the voice of the consumer
