About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer with 6+ years of professional software/backend engineering experience to join our team. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Python backend development, including designing and developing REST APIs and microservices. You will leverage your extensive AWS experience to build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure and applications. This is a 100% onsite position in Plano, TX.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software/backend engineering experience or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong AWS experience with several of the following: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes, S3, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/Redis.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and cloud security.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Experience with automated testing and software quality practices.
- Strong understanding of Git, code reviews, Agile development, and production support.
- Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop REST APIs and microservices using Python.
- Build and maintain backend systems leveraging strong Python development skills.
- Utilize AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes, S3, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, and ElastiCache/Redis.
- Deploy containerized applications using Docker.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure cloud security by managing AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and other security best practices.
- Implement application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Apply automated testing and software quality practices.
- Utilize Git for version control, participate in code reviews, and follow Agile development methodologies.
- Provide production support for applications.
- Collaborate with team members, demonstrating strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
