Senior Python Engineer
About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer with 6+ years of professional software/backend engineering experience. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Python backend development, designing and developing REST APIs and microservices. The ideal candidate will have extensive AWS experience, including services like Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes, S3, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, and ElastiCache/Redis. Proficiency in Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD pipeline development, and cloud security (IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC) is essential. Experience with application monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, automated testing, Git, code reviews, Agile development, and production support are also key requirements. Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills are necessary for this role.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software/backend engineering experience or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong AWS experience with several of the following: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes, S3, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache/Redis.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, and cloud security.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Experience with automated testing and software quality practices.
- Strong understanding of Git, code reviews, Agile development, and production support.
- Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop REST APIs and microservices.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and manage cloud security using AWS IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC.
- Configure and utilize application monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools.
- Perform automated testing and adhere to software quality practices.
- Collaborate using Git, participate in code reviews, and follow Agile development methodologies.
- Provide production support.
