About The Position

The Sr. Psychiatric Technician is responsible for supervising residents during scheduled shifts and provides individual support (i.e., life skills) for assigned residents. All work is performed in accordance with state regulations, CATCH Policies and Procedures and professional mental health standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Counseling, Education or a related field
  • 5 years of mental health direct care experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in mental health direct care
  • Acceptable PA criminal history, FBI clearance and Child Abuse clearance done prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly clinical check-ins with assigned residents and facilitate group therapy sessions
  • Complete clinical notes for assigned participants and psych tech notes for all participants on shift
  • Attend and participate in intake and evaluation of consumers in crisis
  • Assist in developing treatment plans and preparing consumers for transition to residential programs
  • Participate in formulation of client care plans and aftercare planning
  • Assist consumers with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Serve as liaison between clients, case manager, and crisis residence; assist clients in obtaining long-term housing
  • Coordinate care: telephone screening, scheduling/follow-up on appointments, and accompanying clients off-site as needed
  • Review consumer charts for documentation accuracy and complete shift report log with verbal handoff to oncoming staff
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Program Manager
