This role assists assigned People in Recovery (PIR) in defining and progressing toward self-defined recovery goals. The counselor provides individual and group counseling utilizing an Evidenced-Based Practices approach and ensures that defined clinical documents are completed and updated in cooperation with PIR and according to program procedures. The position assists in all aspects of the recovery program as directed by the Associate Director/Program Coordinator, facilitates psycho-educational, skills training, rehabilitation, and therapy groups, and works in cooperation with Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) to provide case management and community integration for persons in recovery. The counselor also assists PIR in becoming familiar with and utilizing existing community resources to achieve recovery goals and works in cooperation with PIR in the design and implementation of the program schedule.
