About The Position

This role is for a Senior Proposal Manager on the Worldwide Public Sector team at AWS, focusing on delivering solutions to U.S. National Security customers. The position involves creating strategies to increase the adoption of Amazon's cloud services. Responsibilities include developing winning proposals, such as written responses for RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, oral presentations, demonstrations, unsolicited documents, and white papers, in collaboration with AWS Capture and Sales teams. The ideal candidate will have public sector proposal management and technical writing experience, along with B&P process development and leadership skills. A background in the industry, contracts, and technology is necessary to effectively interact with various stakeholders and develop compelling value propositions. Familiarity with US Government acquisition guidelines and federal RFx compliance is required. The candidate must be a US citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of in program management, workforce strategy development, or metrics-driven decision making experience
  • 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences
  • Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
  • Demonstrated public sector proposal management and technical writing experience
  • B&P process development and leadership necessary to effectively support a high growth business
  • Industry background that enables development of win themes and technical discriminators
  • Contracts background that enables easy interaction with legal staff
  • Technical background that enables easy interaction with technical leaders and solutions architects
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges
  • Ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context
  • Familiarity with US Government acquisition guidelines
  • Supported US federal pursuits
  • Experienced with federal RFx compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively to identify and write content for RFx responses
  • Craft compelling proposal narratives that synthesize both existing content and new inputs from SMEs, in alignment with strategic proposal objectives
  • Own proposal content development for distinct RFx sections, from ideation to final review
  • Independently gather, organize, and synthesize information from diverse AWS stakeholders, including those from sales, engineering, solutions architecture, and other organizations
  • Contribute to proposal solutioning and strategy development sessions, asking clarifying questions to proactively guide content development
  • Curate, grow, and update our team library of approved content, driving and organizing proposal content to maximize reuse effectiveness and utility
  • Review final proposal documents for editing and content completeness
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to the above responsibilities
  • Create documents that meet compliance requirements, align with sales objectives, provide clear technical and non-technical information, and encourage government customers to adopt AWS Cloud.
