  • B.S./M.S./PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, or Energetics
  • 5–12+ years experience in solid rocket propellants or energetic materials
  • Deep expertise in binder systems (HTPB, GAP, polybutadienes, or novel polymers)
  • Experience with rheology, cure chemistry, and polymer formulation
  • Hands-on experience with mixing, casting, and energetic lab work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with additive manufacturing of viscous materials (inks, slurries, pastes)
  • Experience with nano/micro metal particles (Al, boron)
  • Familiarity with printable energetic composites or DIW processes
  • Background in energetic safety (ATF, OSHA, DoD standards)

Responsibilities

  • Develop printable propellant formulations (AP/HTPB, GAP, or alternative binders)
  • Engineer rheology for extrusion, DIW (Direct Ink Writing), or hybrid AM processes
  • Formulate metalized systems (Al, boron) compatible with printing
  • Optimize viscosity, cure kinetics, and green strength
  • Define safe handling, mixing, and printing protocols for energetic materials
