About The Position

Lighthouse Electric is seeking a Project Scheduler responsible for tracking and updating project schedules using P6 and other scheduling technologies. This role involves close collaboration with team members to manage quantity tracking, assemble percentage complete, facilitate pull plans and lookaheads, manage PPC, and track procurement via the project schedule. The scheduler will also assist in reality capture, attend on-site coordination and scheduling meetings, and act as a mentor within project teams and the department. Key responsibilities include identifying and strategizing scheduling requirements, managing large project schedules (10,000+ activities) with minimal oversight, engaging in discussions about project financials, budgets, and constraints, and accurately forecasting and budgeting upcoming work. The role requires leveraging historical data, construction drawings, and BIM models to identify sequencing errors and drive schedules. Additionally, the scheduler will provide enterprise-level assistance by creating and QC'ing SOPs, finding global solutions for the scheduling team, onboarding and training new schedulers, and identifying creative solutions for unforeseen issues. This includes proactively communicating schedule errors to drive dates, producing advanced Time Impact Analyses for Change Order Submissions, creating and revising preliminary master schedules, identifying critical path bottlenecks and mitigation strategies, developing professional relationships with stakeholders, and conducting "what-if" analyses. The scheduler will also walk construction sites to help team members understand schedule implications.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of scheduling work experience.
  • Expertise in using CPM-based project management software.
  • Competency in leading a team of schedulers prioritizing several tasks demanding immediate attention, and managing several, on-going, concurrent responsibilities.
  • Experience with Lean Construction practices (i.e., Last Planner System, Pull Planning), including integration of Pull Planning Data/Sequences into the project schedule.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suite and/or Google Suite Applications.
  • Ability to understand other trade’s activities in a project schedule.
  • Competency reading floor plans, sections and elevations, specifications.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical construction, fabrication, and BIM workflows & processes.
  • Advanced written or verbal communication skills.
  • Pre-employment drug screen required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions in a variety of work environments, including office and/or active job site settings.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about the office or jobsite as needed to perform essential duties.

Responsibilities

  • Track and update project schedules using P6 and other scheduling technologies.

  • Leverage construction drawings and BIM Model to identify sequencing errors within schedule.
  • Provide Enterprise level assistance by creating SOPs, QC’ing others SOPs, and finding global solutions for the scheduling team.
  • Onboard and train schedulers.
  • Identify creative and innovative solutions for unforeseen issues and effectively communicate schedule errors to drive dates.
  • Engage and proactively identify schedule errors with Project Leadership.
  • Produce advanced Time Impact Analyses for Change Order Submissions.
  • Create and revise preliminary master schedules, detailing the sequence of work to be performed.
  • Identify bottlenecks within Critical Path and identify mitigation strategies to recover lost time.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, owners, and sub-contractors.
  • Conduct detailed "what-if" analyses to evaluate alternative paths, assess impacts, and recommend recoveries or optimization.
  • Walk the construction site, help others understand schedule implications.
