About The Position

The Project Controls Scheduler / Senior Schedueler develops, integrates and performance manages complex, baseline-driven schedules across multiple Generation capital projects. Develops and maintains integrated master schedules that align engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, outage readiness, plant resource needs and in-service milestones into a single, defensible project timeline. Acts as a key partner to project managers, Generation leadership, engineering, construction, procurement, plant operations, maintenance and outage planning teams by providing advanced schedule analysis, risk insights, variance review and forecasting to support critical decision-making and protect key project and outage milestones. Establishes scheduling standards, drives continuous improvement and mentors schedulers and project team members to elevate overall project controls capability within Generation Capital Project Support and Services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Plus two (2) years scheduling and/or project controls experience (for Project Controls Scheduler)
  • Plus five (5) years of scheduling, project controls, project management, construction, outage planning, operations, maintenance and/or related experience supporting capital, plant, industrial or utility projects (for Project Controls Senior Scheduler)

  • Advanced working knowledge of scheduling principles, critical path methodology, baseline management, schedule health analysis, variance reporting and project controls fundamentals.
  • Experience developing and maintaining schedules in Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.
  • Experience supporting Generation, utility, industrial, power plant, outage-driven or capital project environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple high impact priorities in parallel.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development, integration and maintenance of complex, logic-driven and baseline-driven schedules in Primavera P6 across assigned Generation capital projects and portfolios, including plant modifications, equipment replacements, outage-driven work, reliability, environmental, regulatory, facilities and other generation-related projects. Establishes Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity coding, calendars, milestones, schedule logic, baselines and reporting structures. Ensures schedule structure supports project controls, EPMS milestones, cost alignment, stage-gate readiness and leadership reporting needs.
  • Performs advanced critical path, near-critical path, total float, schedule health, baseline variance and logic analyses. Identifies schedule risks, impacts, trends and recovery opportunities and recommends corrective actions to project managers (PM) and leadership. Evaluates schedule impacts to outage windows, pre-outage milestones, engineering deliverables, procurement lead times, construction sequencing, commissioning, in-service dates, plant resource availability and capital forecast commitments.
  • Produces and reviews schedule reporting, including weekly progress reports, three-week look-aheads, milestone summaries, monthly schedule narratives, portfolio dashboards, earned value inputs and leadership-level variance reporting. Provides forecast insights and schedule performance analysis to support project execution, stage-gate decisions, outage readiness, capital planning and Generation portfolio visibility.
  • Partners with PMs, engineering, construction, procurement, finance, plant leadership, operations, maintenance, outage planning and other Generation stakeholders to develop, validate and update project schedules. Leads schedule review meetings, facilitates schedule alignment across project teams and supports formal change control, reforecasting and baseline revision processes. Presents schedule status, risks and mitigation options in project, plant, outage readiness and leadership meetings.
  • Establishes, maintains and improves Generation scheduling standards, templates, activity coding libraries, schedule levels, progressing methods, reporting practices and data quality expectations.
  • Provides guidance, training and mentorship to schedulers, project managers and project team members on P6 scheduling practices, baseline management, schedule updates, schedule review expectations and reporting outputs. Supports continuous improvement of Capital Project Support and Services scheduling services, project controls integration and Generation capital project execution support.
