About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Project Planner to join our Minerals & Metals team in Henderson, NV. Your role will involve developing schedules in Primavera P6 for all stages of the project. You will lead in developing and maintaining the project schedule(s) in collaboration with project managers/construction managers and with input from engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and the client. A key part of your role will be to provide technical support to ensure the project schedule is maintained to the client’s satisfaction. You will also prepare reports for the operations team and management regarding project scheduling activities, correlate schedules, cost, and risk assessments through integrated solutions to influence critical path analysis, and provide robust/quality plans for decision-making. Additionally, you will provide recommendations for corrective action due to delays, work with client staff and sub-contractors to develop and status schedules for their project components, and ensure project schedule activities are coded by the project work breakdown structure for cost/schedule integration and analysis. You will define and optimize critical paths, perform total float analysis, and notify project management of the status of critical activities and schedule risks. This role also involves conducting recovery plans, contingency planning, and schedule compression techniques, supporting the monitoring of contract actual progress versus planned progress and key performance indicators, providing exception reporting, and recommending actions. You will produce consolidated progress reports and surveys with bar charts, S-curves, and manpower histograms, and provide support on the development of project cost expenditure forecast curves. Furthermore, you will perform schedule risk surveys, seek innovation in scheduling and execution plans that could improve project economics, and develop construction field installation work packages (FIWPs) schedules based on level 4 and integration with engineering/procurement work packages. You will maintain liaison with the project team regarding scheduling activities and assist them in determining schedule priorities, and attend project team and subcontractors’ meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferrable in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience.
  • Construction project planning expertise gained across a range of large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects, with a sound understanding of project management principles and application.
  • Advanced skills with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
  • Basic Knowledge in Power BI (Can generate simple report)
  • Relevant experience with mining and metallurgy projects.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proactive, detailed oriented and have a good knowledge of planning techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with client, subcontractors and staff at all levels.
