About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Senior Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for a wide variety of industrial projects, with a primary focus on Water/Wastewater plants, but also including factories/production facilities and data centers. The role involves overseeing one large project or several smaller projects, ensuring project goals are met within time and budget constraints. The Senior Project Manager will manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen, and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 8+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management
  • Power and Industrial experience is needed
  • Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
  • Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Business oriented.
  • Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.

  • PE credentialing is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy.
  • Confer with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
  • Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of project, arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources for each phase.
  • Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts and be responsible for project profit or loss.
  • Lead project team in daily field coordination meetings, weekly block schedule meetings, and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
  • Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
