About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation Practice in Syracuse, NY, reporting to the Sr Project Director, to support the delivery of projects with a particular focus on Roads, Bridges, and Tolls. This role involves leading project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and developing comprehensive Project Management Plans. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the project, including approving invoices and communicating financial performance. Additionally, they will serve as the primary client contact, lead contract negotiations, represent the firm at public hearings and regulatory meetings, lead multi-disciplinary teams, mentor other project managers, and identify new business opportunities.

Requirements

Professional Engineer License is required
Bachelor’s degree is required
15+ years professional experience
5-8 years of direct project management experience

Responsibilities

Leads the project team in executing all phases of the project lifecycle.
Independently develops and manages project scope, schedule, and budget.
Develops and implements comprehensive Project Management Plans.
Manages all financial aspects of the project.
Approves subconsultant and vendor invoices.
Proactively identifies and manages budget variances and communicates financial performance to senior management.
Serves as the primary point of contact for the client.
Leads contract negotiations.
Represents the firm and client at public hearings and regulatory meetings.
Leads and directs multi-disciplinary project teams.
Mentors Project Managers and Associate PMs.
Identifies new business opportunities and participates in proposals.
