About The Position

Pond is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of engineering and consulting services for transmission pipeline projects, from early feasibility and routing through detailed engineering, procurement support, construction support, commissioning support, and project closeout. This is a high-visibility, client-facing leadership role supporting complex energy infrastructure projects. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for successful execution of Pond's contracted scope, including safety, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. The role coordinates multidisciplinary engineering teams, Project Controls, external consultants, and other stakeholders across natural gas, crude oil, refined products, CO2, and hydrogen transmission projects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing transmission pipeline or linear infrastructure projects.
  • Deep understanding of transmission pipeline design, permitting, construction, and operations.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders on complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8, API standards, and PHMSA regulations.
  • Experience delivering engineering and consulting services on projects executed under EPC, EPCM, or Owner's Engineer delivery models.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing interstate gas transmission pipeline projects.
  • Background with compressor stations, pump stations, or terminal facilities.
  • Familiarity with pipeline integrity management programs and operations.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, GIS platforms, and project controls systems, including the ability to interpret and manage project schedules and financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting hydrogen, CO₂, or energy transition pipeline projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Pond's engineering and consulting scope across feasibility, routing, permitting, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support, construction support, commissioning support, and closeout.
  • Develop and drive project execution strategies and staffing plans; work with Project Controls and Engineering to establish and maintain schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across civil, mechanical, pipeline, electrical, I&C, environmental, and structural disciplines.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, communicating consistently, resolving issues proactively, and delivering results.
  • Enforce project governance, quality management systems, and scope and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee development and review of pipeline routing and alignment studies, hydraulic modeling, material specifications, stress analysis, station facility designs, and IFC drawing packages.
  • Coordinate technical reviews, constructability assessments, HAZOPs, and interdisciplinary design reviews.
  • Coordinate with engineering discipline leads on HDD and crossings, geohazard mitigation, corrosion control and CP systems, SCADA and leak detection, and integrity management requirements and design decisions.
  • Coordinate environmental studies, permitting, and regulatory approvals across applicable PHMSA, FERC, ASME, API, and government requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering support for agency interactions, stakeholder engagement, landowner coordination, and environmental mitigation planning as required by project scope.
  • Coordinate engineering procurement support, including technical specifications, vendor bid evaluations, technical clarifications, and vendor document reviews.
  • Manage Pond's engineering responsibilities during construction, including coordination with construction management, field engineering support, RFI resolution, design changes, and technical support for QA/QC activities.
  • Coordinate engineering support for hydrotesting, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness, including review of as-built documentation and technical support for project turnover.
  • Work with Project Controls and Engineering to develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, schedules, and performance metrics; manage financial performance, change orders, cost tracking, and resource planning.
  • Identify and manage project risks, scope changes, and potential cost or schedule impacts; escalate and resolve issues in a timely manner to protect project performance and client relationships.
  • Prepare executive-level status reports and client presentations.
