Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking a Senior Project Manager (SPM) with a passion for structural engineering and people management. This is an experienced technical manager, leadership-track, and shareholder position. The EMI team in San Diego, CA is looking for talented individuals who enjoy solving difficult problems creatively. The Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure (EMI) group applies engineering mechanics, materials science, numerical simulation, innovative technologies, and collective expertise to solve clients' toughest problems in an inspiring work environment that nurtures lifelong learning and growth. A successful candidate may work on design, analysis, licensing/regulatory, and research projects related to buildings, bridges, pipelines, nuclear facilities, tanks, rail vehicles, rotating equipment, precision observatory structures, and other non-building critical infrastructure systems. In this role, you will work alongside the Principal in EMI San Diego to manage the delivery of projects including complex finite element analysis, structural dynamics, seismic design for extreme earthquake events, design of rotating and vibrating equipment supports, pressure vessels, liquid storage tanks, vibration mitigation, impact/blast, aircraft impact assessment, anchorage to concrete, and equipment seismic testing and certification/qualification. Partnering with a diverse range of owners, agencies, utilities, and research organizations, you will bring broad perspective and creative solutions. Location: San Diego, CA is preferred, but Newport Beach, CA or Remote will be considered.
